Hey guize, today, I'd like to introduce you to a product you'd want in your facial cleansing routine! My gals would know that I can spend more than 20 mins in the bath exfoliating my skin. I've tried micro-scrubs and tofu sponges but I feel that this konjac sponge is the best natural exfoliator! It is also the best sponge for deep cleansing. After a long day, especially when you've been wearing make-up, you'll need a good round of deep cleansing to remove oil and dirt from your pores. The konjac sponge itself can provide your skin with necessary minerals. It also exfoliates, promote skin cell growth and stimulates blood flow. When you use it with facial wash, it forms micro-foam which effectively unclogs pores.

I've been trying to find this sponge in several beauty supply stores but I couldn't find any. Good thing an online Japanese beauty supply store owner mailed me one for this advertorial!

They do not have a website currently but there will be a konjac sponge pre-order on thecouturepony.com, starting tomorrow at noon (12pm). I've requested them to do this pre-order just so you guize can get one of these konjac sponges too! Here are pictures from Vera Wang's S/S '12 ad campaign (which I absolutely adore) featuring one of my favourite Chinese model, Shu Pei in elegant, lovely pieces. One of my greatest wish is to walk down the aisle in a Vera Wang gown. *swoons* What I find extremely stunning would be the pastel coral gown in the second photo, the oriental fusion piece in the third and the shimmering sequined maxi evening number in the last. Apart from the collection pieces, I love her neutral make up and romantic curls/loose braid.

New Year's Eve

So, today is the last day of twenty-eleven...

It's been a great year for myself. I've met many new friends, learned new things, let go of things I've hold onto for too long, shared my happiest (and saddest) moments with the people I love, went to fashion shows, met Maroon 5, hugged Adam Levine, raised funds for Somalia, kept this blog going, took the grand examinations, graduated high school, attended prom with my beautiful girlfriends and had a little gf-party at the beautiful Marina Bay Sands, had sleepovers, threw parties and loved God, Neal, Hannah, (and their families) my friends and family more than ever. I'm most thankful to God for everything I've received. If you're still searching for true, lasting happiness, I'm telling you my friend, happiness starts when you're thankful. Cherish every moment and make the best out of every day.

Life is like a bicycle.
To keep it balanced, you've gotta keep on moving.

My baby is away right now and he'll be back only on Sunday. I miss him. He's so thoughtful 'cause he got an overseas prepaid card just to text me Goodnight and Goodmorning and I Miss You messages even though it's just 3 days. He tells me that he just wants to be connected to me wherever we are on Earth. And I told him that we always are, through heartbeats and breaths.

I wonder if anyone is still reading this space sometimes... It has been rather quiet ever since I started preparing for the examinations. And now that the examinations are over, I feel that no one's reading TheCouturePony.com anymore.

Now, I know I hardly write about my personal life here but I will be writing about Neal and I today. No one knows when it started but we drifted apart from each other. Oh, you know how these things happen gradually... It's like how the sun would start to creep above the horizon at the break of dawn and before you know it, it's rays would filter every cloud and every window. We had quarrels occassionally and it was really tiring. Most of the time, at the end of such quarrels, or even halfway through, I'd find it meaningless and painful. We'll raise our voices and suddenly, I'd think to myself, "When is this gonna end?". I'd tell him in my head that I love him and I don't want to hurt him any more. If only those words would project. On Wednesday, we had one. But this time, it was really bad. It was so bad that I wasn't the only one crying. This wasn't the first time he cried about us/me but it was my first time seeing his tears. Trust me, it's really hard to watch a guy cry for you. It's really heart wrenching. It started off with something really minor and almost ridiculous, then it escalated. I got really mad because he started it and won't let me end the quarrel. Mad and hurt at the same time because nothing was making sense and all I wanted was to stop quarreling but he wouldn't let me. I don't know what exactly happened next but we were on the verge of breaking. I'm sure he said it at the heat of the moment and I'm sure he didn't mean to but my heart died when I heard "It's over". I was so torn. We were in my room so we laid next to each other on the bed after raising our voices for so long and it was rather silent now.

"I'm sorry. I didn't mean to hurt you."
"I'm sorry too."
"I love you."
"Do you remember the first time we met?"
"Yeah. We caught fireworks together that night and I secretly put my arms around you for a bit."
"Oh, so you did that on purpose?"
"Yeah... I liked you. Couldn't you feel it?"

Then we went on and on reminiscing through every detail in our days together, curled together, my head against his chest with his arms around me. Our inhales and exhales synchronized and I felt safe. Then I started confessing about a thing or two I hid from him. I didn't let him down, it was just little things I kept from him because I thought that they would get him a little paranoid and I didn't want that. And just when I thought that I was the only one who had confessions to make, he said, "Hey, I've got something..." My heart sank and there was this physical pain somewhere near it caused by a surge of emotions. I've always trusted him with all of my heart and it is just difficult to accept that there were two instead of one in the relationship who had confessions to make. My eyes moved from the chandelier hanging from my ceiling to his face and I watched him while he confessed. He turned to look at me when he was done and said, "But there's nothing between us. I sw-, I can't swear but I promise." We've talked about this girl a couple of times before and my intuition that tells me that she likes my guy somehow. Of course, I felt insecure and confused since he's kept so much about them from me. I kept silent and turned away from him, avoiding his eyes, as I stared back at the warm glows of my chandelier.

"Are you okay?"
"I guess."

I gave a terse reply hestitantly, not knowing what exactly to say. Should I feel disappointed? Is there really nothing going on? Is she a girl to love who is better than I am?
He left my place at about 11 PM and he missed the last train home. I felt slightly remorseful but I was still extremely uncertain. I let the water run and hit against me in the shower as a cleared my jumble of thoughts. After getting dressed and blow-drying my hair, I sent him a text. Almost immediately, Taio Cruz's 'No Other One' played.

I don't need to ever exchange. I don't ever need to ever replace. I'm not going any damn place. You should know that I don't need no other one, all I need is you.

I picked up the call and he said very anxiously, almost like Cruz, "I don't need to reconsider. There's no one else now and there will never be anyone else. I'd regret if I were to lose you only because I didn't try hard enough. I can't imagine life without you."

Good things fall apart so that better things can fall together.
I'm so happy that we cherish this relationship even more now.

Hey guize, here's my VS Fashion Show 2011 post! :-)
Phew, it took me quite a while to upload and arrange 'em. Hope you liked it.
So the show was held at NYC's Lexington Avenue Armory on Nov. 9. There are 6 beautifully themed sections - "Ballet", "Super Angels", "Passion", "Angels Aquatic", "I Put a Spell on You" and "Club PINK". My favourite section was "Passion Play"; where the angels strutted down to California King Bed by Rihanna in gorgeous, exotic costumes. Guest performances include Kanye West, Jay Z, Maroon 5 and Nicki Minaj. Beyonce, Orlando, Stephen Dorff, Lake Bell, Maxwell, Jack Huston, Lala Vasquez, and Gossip Girl's Matthew Settle were also present.

Hey guize! I know it's been a month since my last post - I'm so terribly sorry for not blogging for so long! I've been very busy with my exam prep and I was really sick last week. Really hate feeling lethargic and nauseous... Good thing I've recovered quite a lot now.

If you've been following me on Twitter, you'd have seen my tweets about the Topshop + Topman A/W '11 Fashion Show. So I brought my girlfriend, Gilaine, along to the show last Friday and it was amaaazing! The pictures are still with her right now so I'll do up the post as soon as I get them.

Hey guize. I'm in for short just to check on y'all. You good?

My life's been absolutely mundane - Yes, even on weekends, even on Friday nights - sadly. FYI, I'm back to jogging every Thursday night. ;-) There isn't much to update you guize on. I'm sorry! (BUT) Well, I got Rainbow a lovely Chanel bag for her birthday last month! So I'll fetch you guize some pics! :-) Also, I'm close to finishing Something Borrowed. Is that a good thing? I'm sandwiched between the pros and cons of finishing a book that I absolutely love. I'm starting to feel hollow. I feel hollow always when I'm close to an end of something. Be it a book, a movie or a relationship. Only when I feel attached to it, that is. But I'm the kind of person that'll redo something that I love over and over again and never get sick of it. Like, when I love a song, I'd put it on replay. So I guess... I'll get back to reading it after I'm done with The Carrie Diaries and Summer and the City. Back to werk! Fingers crossed on fetching you guize pictures! :-)

Hey guiz. I'm sorry for taking so long. And I'm sorry that this post is totally not worth your wait. I'm just... Really messed up right now. I've got at least 3 tests a week, never-ending homework and classes till 9 every single day. I sleep at 3 and I wake at 6. I feel extremely distraught on most days and my family issues will never be resolved. It's a short countdown to the final papers and I'm feeling super unprepared at the moment. I won't be posting a lot for the next 3 months but I really hope that you guiz will still stick around with me till the end... I don't expect much though. I understand that this blog will get boring and stale at some point in time... And no one will read it but myself. Oh well!

Oh and, before I continue, just a lil' (real lil') update for those who do not have Twitter: I slept over Neal's place during the weekends! ;-)

Sweet Sixteenth

So here's my birthday post, everyone!

Started the day with Neal coming over in the morn' with the hugest bouquet of flowers and gifts! And before that, Rachel and Dylan came over to wish me and also, to pass me some presents. How thoughtful!

Then, Neal and I were off to the club!
He booked the cab which took us there 2 days before, by the way! How meticulous. And throughout the day, just like any other birthday gal, I received a gazillion of birthday wishes. Feels like love!

Having a birthday brunch treat from Neal!

The chefs were great that afternoon.

We were just sitting around at the patio after the very scrumptious brunch... When the gals showed up behind us! They were chorusing the birthday song and then a lovely cake appeared. And I was like, oh-my-goshing the whole way through. It was really unexpected. (Well, I sorta guessed it at the very last minute, but the surprise still worked!) And later on, I found out that it was a collaboration between my bestie and Neal. Love them both so much. It feels really special when your best friend works with your boy friend to organize something exclusively for you. And I love the gals! They mean a lot to me.

Oh and, I caught Something Borrowed for the second time with Gilaine! And I loved the movie so much, I got the book. This is the original version though. So, it's a lil' different from the movie's plot. Loves it! I wanna savour every single bit of it through and through. Every. Subtle. Detail.

It's 4AM in the morning and I'm wide awake and typing. (Wait, did I just rhyme? No pun intended.) Caught a night movie- Something Borrowed - on the big screen with Neal on Friday and then he slept over at my place. It was such a lovely movie. I'm legit in love with Colin Egglesfield who plays Dext, the male lead. I cried buckets watching it though (always exaggerating 'cause I just enjoy being dramatic). But then again, I cry at almost every single movie. I'm so damn emotional. :-(

Hey guize! I'm feeling extremely inspired right now. I'm very proud of Singapore's progress towards being a developed, international, all-rounded hub. Since fashion is my passion (Lol, it rhymes!) and since you guize have been very motivational and supportive, I'm gon' do a lil' sharing about the amazing Asia Fashion Exchange (AFX) and the Audi Fashion Festival (AFF)! :-)

ABOUT:

Asia Fashion Exchange (AFX) inaugurated in 2010, is a joint private and public sector initiative by key industry players such as the Textile and Fashion Federation of Singapore (TaFf) and organiser Mercury Marketing & Communications, with the support of government agencies, International Enterprise (IE) Singapore, SPRING Singapore (SPRING) and the Singapore Tourism Board (STB).

AFX seeks to develop the long-term sustainability of Singapore’s fashion industry by building capability and profiling Asian talent on an international platform and to position Singapore as Asia’s Fashion Capital.

AUDI FASHION FESTIVAL (13-19th MAY 2011)

I've been to the AFF and it was brilliant beyond words!

ABOUT:

The Audi Fashion Festival 2011 (AFF) will feature top international and Asian designers showcasing their runway collections at the Tent@Orchard, Ngee Ann City Civic Plaza. From the world’s most revered designers and international top models to red carpet fashion galas and glamorous after-parties, the Audi Fashion Festival will be highlighted as the biggest fashion event of the year, with the support of the Singapore Tourism Board.

PREVIOUSLY:

In the previous years in 2009 and 2010, AFF showcased collections from world-known brands such as Christian Lacroix, Vivienne Westwood, Gareth Pugh, Marc by Marc Jacobs, DSquared, KTZ, Henry Holland, Marchesa, Roberto Cavalli as well as local fashion heroes like Raoul and Alldressedup.

Attendance for the event was commendable with 9000 guests headed their way for the tent last year and this included foreign media guests from countries like The UK, US, Australia, The UAE, China, Korea and Thailand to name a few.

LATEST UPDATE:

Other new updates include, AFF also boasting a new chairman this year – well-known Singapore composer and fashion impresario (also, co-founder of Carrie Models), Dick Lee. With his extensive experience in fashion, he will be working closely with Tjin Lee, managing director of Mercury Marketing & Communications, the AFF organizer, to come up with programmes to excite the fashion consumer, both local and international.

Illest Getaway

I just got back from the most relaxing getaway. Put work aside and went out of the city. Neal's family brought us to the yacht club for a lil' weekend get away... The view from the suite's balcony is so panoramic. I loved it so much. The whole place was a total sanctuary. It's so serene and tranquil. And at night, you'd hear the yachts tingle gently. Totally needed this.

I loved snuggling with Neal in bed, finding Wally. Listened to the BSBs that night. Old school and I love it! I'm quite a fan of the BSBs

I was contemplating to get Chanel/Dior rouge and I chose The Coco Rouge Allure! They've been sending me tons of mails about it.

I've no idea why I got this. I guess Rainbow was getting stuffs from SK-II so I just popped this into the basket.

But M.A.C's Opulash is not bad too... I've been using it ever since my last Dior Show mascara ran out.
